The Aberlour 9 Year Old – Batch 7 from That Boutique‑y Whisky Company is a bright, orchard‑driven Speyside malt that wears its youth with polish and confidence. On the nose, it opens with fresh green apples and ripe pear, drizzled with honey and sprinkled with brown sugar. Beneath the fruit lies a gentle creamy vanilla note, soft cereal malt, and a faint cut‑grass freshness that adds lift. The palate is medium‑bodied and approachable, beginning with milk chocolate and juicy peaches in syrup, followed by sultanas and oat‑biscuit maltiness. A touch of vanilla cream rounds out the sweetness, balanced by a flicker of black pepper and light toasted oak that prevents it from becoming cloying. The finish is medium‑long and drying, with lingering orchard fruit sweetness, a soft almond nuttiness, and a final breath of peppery spice over gentle oak.
