Elegant, coastal, and distinctly English, the Adnams 8 Year Old from That Boutique-y Whisky Company showcases the maturation potential of one of England’s pioneering grain-to-glass distilleries. Known for its sustainability and brewing heritage, Adnams delivers a whisky that is both refined and characterful, with a bright malt core and well-developed cask influence. On the nose, it reveals layers of baked orchard fruits, vanilla cream, and lemon peel, complemented by malted biscuit, white pepper, and a faint coastal salinity. Hints of almond toffee, light oak, and dried herbs add subtle complexity. The palate is smooth and medium-bodied, offering flavours of pear tart, shortbread, and honeyed cereal, underpinned by notes of ginger snap, faint tobacco leaf, and nutmeg. There's a pleasant textural depth from the distillery’s house malt character. The finish is balanced and gently drying, with echoes of malt loaf, vanilla pod, and a wisp of mineral sea breeze.
