Darkly playful and richly layered, the End of the World Whisky Blend from That Boutique-y Whisky Company is a flavour-packed dram with a dramatic name — but a highly drinkable nature. Blended from a curated selection of malt and grain whiskies (possibly from around the world), it’s crafted for boldness, comfort, and just a touch of chaos. The nose opens with a swirl of toffee apple, burnt orange peel, and spiced fruitcake, supported by notes of leather-bound books, toasted oak, and a gentle waft of smoke or char. Hints of molasses, dried apricot, and black tea give it an old-soul depth. On the palate, it’s full-bodied and warming, with flavours of baked plums, clove-studded caramel, and dark chocolate shavings. Underneath the richness is a backbone of malted grain, dunnage warehouse funk, and subtle spice — suggesting a mix of well-aged malt and robust grain components. If smoke is present, it's integrated and subtle — more ember than explosion. The finish is long and lingering, with notes of vanilla bean, charred wood, nutmeg, and a touch of rancio fruit and salt — like a farewell toast as the world burns sweetly around you.
