The nose is expressive and slightly savory, opening with notes of roasted nuts, salted toffee, and orange peel, alongside gentle hints of dried apricot, waxed apple skin, and worn leather. There’s a coastal edge to it—brine, driftwood, and malt vinegar—balanced by warming spices like nutmeg and clove. On the palate, it’s medium-bodied and slightly oily, showing off Inchgower’s trademark nutty and spicy malt character. Flavours of spiced fruitcake, walnut shell, and bitter orange are complemented by peppery oak, burnt sugar, and herbal tea. The texture is firm, with a good grip from the wood and a touch of salinity on the mid-palate. The finish is long and gently drying, with lingering notes of dark chocolate, ginger, roasted grain, and sea salt, fading into a balanced mix of oak and spice.
