On the nose, it opens with warm, rich aromas of spiced honey cake, vanilla fudge, and baked apple, layered with hints of cinnamon bark, roasted nuts, and orange marmalade. There’s an undercurrent of polished oak and sweet cereals, balanced by a touch of herbal dryness—almost like thyme or dried mint. The palate is bold and textured, delivering a sweet-spice punch. Notes of toffee, poached pear, and golden syrup mingle with clove, nutmeg, and black pepper, likely influenced by active oak casks. There’s a slight tannic grip mid-palate that adds structure, with lingering tones of milk chocolate, toasted barley, and a touch of licorice root. The finish is medium-long, warming and gently drying, leaving a trail of spiced oak, fruit compote, and vanilla bean. A touch of sandalwood and rye-like herbaceousness lingers pleasantly.
