Beneath the smoke lie intriguing layers of iodine, brine, lemon oil, and cracked black pepper, with fleeting notes of charred herbs, salted caramel, and toasted malt. Hints of citrus rind and engine oil lend it that classic Octomore industrial-meets-coastal edge. The palate is thick, oily, and unapologetically intense. Waves of earthy peat, burnt heather, and smoked meats crash over the tongue, balanced by vanilla pod, dark chocolate, and roasted coffee bean. Despite the massive peat level, the spirit is well-structured, with a backbone of sweet malt, grilled citrus, and saline minerality. Hints of BBQ glaze, chili oil, and seaweed add savory complexity. The finish is long, smoky, and smouldering—bonfire embers, espresso, and dry oak spice linger with subtle tar, sea salt, and a trace of dark fruits soaked in smoke.
