Graceful, mature, and richly textured, the Speyside #4 – 23 Year Old from That Boutique-y Whisky Company is a beautifully aged single malt that speaks with quiet confidence. Decades of cask maturation have softened and deepened the spirit, producing a whisky that weaves together fruit, oak, spice, and floral elegance in true Speyside fashion. The nose opens with classic depth: baked pear, dried apricots, and caramelised apple tart, all resting on a base of vanilla pod, antique oak, and a faint hint of rosewater. There's a subtle waxy character — reminiscent of beeswax, old books, and almond paste. On the palate, it’s layered and silky, delivering flavours of honey-drizzled malt, toffee apple, and spiced shortbread, balanced by gentle ginger warmth, cinnamon, and a touch of polished oak. Mid-palate, look for hints of orange marmalade, hazelnut cream, and elegant floral esters. The finish is long and mellow, tapering into lingering notes of dried fruit, vanilla cream, light tobacco leaf, and a final whisper of lemon oil and clove.
