Mature, graceful, and full of quiet complexity, the Speyside #4 – 24 Year Old from That Boutique-y Whisky Company is a refined single malt that exemplifies the elegance of long-aged Speyside whisky. With nearly a quarter-century of cask influence, this dram reveals soft fruit, polished oak, and gentle spice in seamless harmony. The nose opens with beautifully layered aromas of baked apple, poached pear, and honeycomb, followed by vanilla custard, almond tart, and a touch of orange peel. Hints of dried flowers, lemon oil, and tea leaf lend a sophisticated, mellow character. On the palate, it’s silky and rounded, delivering flavours of peach cobbler, buttery shortbread, and caramelised nuts, supported by gentle oak spice, cinnamon, and a faint whisper of waxed citrus peel. There’s a soft malty sweetness that ties the fruit and wood notes together with elegance. The finish is long, warm, and clean — tapering with notes of vanilla pod, dried fruit, and a subtle mineral dryness. A late touch of white pepper and light tobacco leaf lingers in a perfectly aged afterglow.
